The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Wireline Competition Bureau, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (the Bureaus), and the Office of Economics and Analytics (OEA) have granted multiple petitions seeking waivers of the Mobility Fund Phase I (MF-I) or Tribal MF-1 requirements.  Specifically, East Kentucky Network, LLC d/b/a Appalachian Wireless, United States Cellular Corporation, GCI Communications Corp., and Union Telephone Company were granted waivers of deadlines for buildout, drive testing, and reporting requirements.  The Commission concluded that the petitioners made reasonable plans to timely fulfill their obligations but that special circumstances beyond their control prevented them from meeting their deadlines, and thus waivers are warranted.
