The Federal Communications Commission has released a Small Entity Compliance Guide summarizing the compliance obligations adopted in the FCC’s June 2026 NG911 Reliability Order.
The Order expands reliability obligations to certain NG911 and IP-network providers that operate critical 911 infrastructure, including Next Generation Core Service and Emergency Services IP Network providers, and requires covered providers to take reasonable measures to ensure service reliability. It also replaces the annual reliability certification with a one-time reliability certification, due 18 months after the release of a FCC public notice announcing compliance dates.
