FCC Seeks Comment on Midland Radio Corporation’s Request for Waiver of Certain General Mobile Radio Service Rules

The FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau is seeking comment on Midland Radio Corporation’s (Midland) request for waiver of certain general rules governing General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) operations in the 462 MHz band.  Specifically, Midland has requested that the Commission waive its rules to allow: (1) non-held radio digital data transmission; (2) automatic transmission of digital data more than once within a thirty-second period; and (3) the antennas to be a non-integrated part of the GMRS unit. Comments are due November 12 and reply comments are due November 26
