President Trump released the National Cyber Strategy, outlining the administration’s cyber vision for protecting American interests in cyberspace. The Strategy is summarized in six policy pillars, which will guide implementation of the strategy. The administration aims to: (1) detect, confront, and defeat cyber adversaries before they breach American networks and systems; (2) streamline cyber and data regulations to reduce compliance burdens; (3) modernize and secure federal government networks by implementing cybersecurity best practices, post-quantum cryptography, zero-trust architecture, and cloud transition; (4) secure critical infrastructure and operational technology supply chains; (5) sustain superiority in critical and emerging technologies by protecting user privacy from design to deployment; and (6) build talent and capacity by eliminating roadblocks to building a skilled cyber workforce.
