The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau released an Initial Determination Order and Order to Show Cause, giving a voice service provider 14 days to demonstrate compliance with the FCC’s traceback rules or face penalties. Section 64.1200(n) of the FCC’s rules requires all voice service providers to respond to traceback requests within 24 hours of receipt. The provider failed to respond timely to the traceback requests it received and has subsequently failed to respond to further requests from the FCC. The company now faces having all downstream traffic blocked and removal from the Robocall Mitigation Database.
