After 72 rounds of bidding, the first FCC spectrum auction in several years came to a close. The FCC announced that seven bidders won a total of 200 AWS-3 licenses. While Verizon bid the most with $3.16 billion for 82 licenses, T-Mobile won the most licenses. T-Mobile bid $217.8 million for 102 licenses, primarily in rural areas. AT&T won 10 licenses for $120.8 million. The remaining 6 licenses were won by SpaceX, Conundrum Wireless, Citizens Band License Company, and Blue Ridge Wireless. The auction bids totaled $3.57 billion.
