The FCC has released a tentative agenda for the upcoming April Open Commission Meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm EDT. The FCC plans to consider the following six items:
- A Report and Order to modernize spectrum sharing between geostationary and non-geostationary satellite systems that will update the spectrum-sharing criteria.
- A Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing stricter “Know-Your-Customer” rules for originating providers to address illegal robocalls.
- A Second Report and Order, Order on Reconsideration, and Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to require test labs and certification bodies to be based in the United States or within foreign countries with reciprocity agreements.
- A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing to exclude entities identified on the FCC’s “Covered List” from receiving blanket authority to provide interstate telecommunications services.
- A Report and Order and Order on Reconsideration to establish a competitive bidding portal for E-Rate applicants and to streamline E-Rate program procedures.
- A Third Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing to amend the FCC’s Audible Crawl Rule to help ensure that people who are visually impaired continue receiving critical emergency information.
