The House Appropriations Committee has introduced an appropriations bill that would make available $60 billion in broadband grants to providers of broadband Internet access services to expand such services to underserved and unserved areas.  These grants would be available until September 30, 2025.  The appropriations bill also proposes to fund the $1 billion Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act and provide $73 million to implement the Broadband DATA Act.  The bill was approved by the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee and will be marked up by the full committee later next week.
