The FCC Wireline Competition Bureau in conjunction with the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) have announced tariff revisions that will provide certain eligible rural carrier customers with a 25% discount on various broadband services for eligible new customers and no-cost service upgrades for eligible existing customers. The new tariff revisions are designed to help connect certain low-income students (i.e., those eligible for free or reduced-price school lunches through the National School Lunch Program) to remote learning. The revised tariffs are effective October 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
