Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alert System Tests Scheduled for August 11, 2021

The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (Bureau) has published a Public Notice to all Emergency Alert System (EAS) Participants, Participating Commercial Mobile Service (CMS) Providers, and to the public announcing that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the FCC will perform a nationwide test of the EAS and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) systems on August 11 at 2:20 pm EDT.  If the conditions necessitate rescheduling, a secondary date of August 25 at 2:20 pm EDT, has been chosen. 

Additionally, the Bureau announced that the EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) is now available to accept 2021 filings.  All EAS participants must renew their identifying information in ETRS Form One on or prior to July 6.
