FCC and NTIA Create Spectrum Coordination Initiative

The FCC and NTIA have established the Spectrum Coordination Initiative.  The Initiative is focused on improving U.S. government spectrum management coordination, addressing spectrum policy issues, and strengthening agency decision-making and information sharing. Specifically, the FCC and NTIA have: (1) restored regular meetings on joint spectrum planning between FCC and NTIA leadership; (2) reaffirmed FCC and NTIA responsibilities; (3) committed to developing a national spectrum strategy, investing in planning, and increasing transparency; (4) recommitted to evidence-based policymaking; and (5) reorganized technical collaboration through participation in cross-agency advisory groups.
