The Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) has approved seven applications, subject to certain conditions, to operate automated frequency coordination (AFC) systems.  The seven approved applications were submitted by: (1) Qualcomm Incorporated; (2) Federated Wireless, Inc.; (3) Sony Group Corporation; (4) Comsearch, a CommScope Company; (5) the Wi-Fi Alliance Services Corporation; (6) the Wireless Broadband Alliance, Inc.; and (7) Broadcom Inc.  These AFC systems underwent a comprehensive testing program, which included lab testing and a public trial.  These seven AFC systems are now permitted to manage access to spectrum in the U-NII-5 (5.925-6.425 GHz) and U-NII-7 (6.525-6.875 GHz) portions of the 6 GHz band for standard power access points and fixed client devices.

The FCC is seeking comment on C3Spectra’s proposal to become an approved AFC system operator.  Comments on this proposal are due by March 15, 2024
