FCC Establishes Affordable Connectivity Outreach Grant Program

The FCC has established the Affordable Connectivity Outreach Grant Program to raise awareness about the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, a $14.2 billion program providing qualifying low-income households discounts on broadband service and connected devices.  The Outreach Grant Program will provide funding to support eligible partners in their outreach efforts to increase awareness of the ACP.

Types of eligible entities include Tribal governments, state governments, local governments, public housing authorities, social service providers, education organizations, non-profit organizations, workforce development organizations, and community-based organizations.

The FCC does not specify a comprehensive list of allowable outreach activities but does state that in-person events, literature campaigns, digital campaigns and paid media campaigns could all provide meaningful outreach.
