FCC Seeks Comment on Biennial Accessibility Report

The FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau has requested comment on the biennial report required by the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA) that must be submitted to Congress by October 8, 2022.  The FCC seeks comment on compliance with statutory mandates for telecommunications and advanced communications services and equipment used with such services, to be accessible to people with disabilities.  Additionally, the Bureau seeks comment on: (1) accessibility barriers to new communications technologies; (2) the impact of CVAA enforcement and recordkeeping requirements on the development and deployment of new technology; and (3) the extent to which people with disabilities have been able to access telecommunications services during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Comments are due April 4, 2022
