FCC Seeks Comment on Offshore Spectrum Access

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has released a Notice of Inquiry requesting comment on updates to its rules and policies regarding facilitation of access to offshore spectrum for both private and commercial networks.  The FCC seeks comment on the demand for offshore spectrum access, including potential uses such as scientific experimentation, communication services by vessel, and windfarms.  The NOI also seeks comment on the infrastructure needed to support such operations and spectrum rights granted with such access, among other considerations.
