$1.18 Million Repayment Demanded for ACP and EBB Computer Tablet Overbilling

The FCC has demanded that $1.18 million be repaid to the U.S. Treasury within 30 days by Boomerang Wireless (Boomerang) and Assist Wireless (Assist) for overpayment of reimbursement claims they made and received for connected devices provided to consumers as part of the COVID-era Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB). The companies had sought reimbursement of as much as $100 per tablet for devices that were widely available for half that price.  Boomerang must repay $131,027.10 in ACP and $513,608.14 in EBB payments. Assist must repay $93,543.66 in ACP and $444,415.72 in EBB payments.
