The FCC has pledged $1,203,107,496.88 in funding for 3,040 schools, 260 libraries, and 24 consortia in the Emergency Connectivity Fund Program’s (the Program) first funding wave. This funding will be directed towards school staff, library patrons, and students to support off-campus education. The funding will support 774,115 broadband connections and 3,081,131 devices, and will provide over 3.6 million students with access to devices and broadband connectivity. As it reviews additional applications from the Program’s first filing window, the FCC will continue to announce future funding commitments.
The Program’s second filing window will be open from September 28 to October 13.
