The Chiefs of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (Bureaus) have granted in part a Petition for Waiver filed by Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) requesting additional time to satisfy construction requirements due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The Bureaus find a waiver in the public interest to provide temporary relief to licensees due to supply chain and equipment delivery delays that may occur as a result of COVID-19 and the declared national emergency. The Bureaus provide most wireless site-based and mobile-only licensees with construction deadlines from March 15, 2020, through and including, May 15, 2020, an additional 60 days to meet existing deadlines. The Bureaus, however, decline to extend all construction deadlines until August 31, 2020, as EWA requested, but indicate that the FCC may consider further extensions if warranted.
