The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSHB) has released a Public Notice announcing that it has extended “for good cause the timeframe for determining whether to finalize the designations of Huawei and ZTE” until at least June 30, 2020.  The PSHSB  has found that the passage of the Secure Networks Act on March 12, 2020 while the FCC’s initial designations were still pending and “the importance of fully and adequately considering the records” in the Huawei and ZTE designation proceedings warrants an extension.  The Federal Register has also published a Public Notice released in early April seeking comment on the FCC’s implementation of the Secure Networks Act, especially with respect to the reimbursement program.  Comments are due on or before Wednesday, May 20, 2020 and reply comments are due on or before Thursday, June 4, 2020.
