The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has released a Public Notice providing additional information and guidance for potential applicants to the Connected Care Pilot Program.  The Pilot Program will provide up to $100 million in universal services funds, over a 3-year period, to support the provision of connected care services, including costs of: (1) patient broadband Internet access services; (2) health care provider broadband data connections; (3) certain network equipment; and (4) other connected care information services.  This program is directed at low-income patients and veterans and is open to any nonprofit or public eligible health care provider that falls within the statutorily defined category of “health care provider,” as defined in section 254(h)(7)(B) of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.  The Commission will release another Public Notice with details regarding the application process.
