The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced a second round of Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding to provide broadband to locations expected to remain unserved after the initial BEAD deployment round. As part of the second round, NTIA will review any changes in the Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric to create a new list of BEAD-eligible locations. States and territories receiving BEAD funding will review the new list and then submit a supplemental BEAD deployment plan to NTIA for approval. The supplemental round will use most of the approximately $21 billion in funding NTIA did not approve for deployment in the first BEAD round.
