The FCC sent a letter to DISH detailing its conclusion that DISH has met its band-specific 5G commitments and two of its three nationwide 5G commitments.  DISH made commitments to construct a nationwide 5G broadband network in connection with its involvement in the T-Mobile/Sprint transaction.

Specifically, in regard to its band-specific commitments, DISH has deployed a core network and offered 5G broadband service to at least 70 percent of the U.S. population, with respect to its 600 MHz licenses, AWS-4 and AWS H Block licenses, and 700 MHz E Block licenses.  In regard to its nationwide 5G commitments, DISH has deployed at least 15,000 sites and deployed 30 MHz downlink 5G spectrum averaged over all DISH 5G sites.  DISH’s remaining nationwide 5G commitment is to offer 5G broadband service to at least 70 percent of the U.S. population with 35 Mbps or greater speeds.  DISH will have six months from the release of the letter to satisfy this requirement.
