The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has released a Public Notice seeking comment on private-led efforts to trace the sources of suspected unlawful robocalls, which it is required to do annually by the TRACED Act.  The Bureau will then issue an annual report on the status of such efforts.  The annual report will include at a minimum: (1) a list of each voice service provider that received a request from the registered consortium to participate in traceback efforts and refused to participate; (2) the reason those voice providers refused to participate; (3) a list of the voice service providers that participated in the traceback efforts; (4) a description of the private-led traceback efforts and actions taken to coordinate with the FCC; and (5) a description of how the FCC may use the information provided by voice service providers and the registered consortium.

The Bureau requests that voice service providers and the registered consortium, USTelecom’s Industry Traceback Group, submit any information necessary for the FCC’s annual report by the deadline of November 13, 2023.  The reporting period for this request is from November 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023.
