The FCC has imposed a $116 million fine against a group of parties responsible for generating toll free dialing fees by making illegal robocalls.  The responsible parties, Thomas Dorsher, ChariTel, OnTel, and ScammerBlaster, presented themselves as a campaign against scam robocalls when in fact they were illegally robocalling toll free numbers.  The FCC’s investigation uncovered that the responsible parties made over 9.7 million prerecorded voice message calls to toll free numbers without their prior express consent or an emergency purpose.
