FCC Ready To Authorize $4.3 Million in Rural Broadband Experiment Support

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) has announced that it is ready to authorize a total of $4.3 million in rural broadband experiment support for Northeast Rural Services, Inc. (NRS) and Lake County Minnesota Lake County d/b/a Lake Connections (Lake Connections).  NRS will use its support to bring broadband services to 120 census blocks in Oklahoma, while Lake Connections will use its support to bring broadband services to 845 census blocks in Minnesota.  To be authorized to receive this support, NRS and Lake Connections must submit at least one acceptable irrevocable stand-by letter of credit and Bankruptcy Code opinion letter in accordance with the instructions provided in the Bureau’s Public Notice.
