FCC Reports on Q4 2013 Consumer Inquiries and Informal Complaints

The FCC has released a report on consumer inquiries and informal complaints received and processed by the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau during the fourth quarter of 2013.  The report shows the subjects on which consumers submitted inquiries and informal complaints under the following categories: Bundled and Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) Services; Cable and Satellite Services; Radio and Television Broadcasting; Wireless Telecommunications; and Wireline Telecommunications.  The FCC reported data on inquiries and complaints related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) separately from the Wireless Telecommunications and Wireline Telecommunications categories.  The total number of informal complaints by category during the fourth quarter of 2013 are as follows: Bundled and VoIP Services, 1,622; Cable and Satellite Services, 1,956; Radio and Television Broadcasting, 4,894; Wireless Telecommunications, 4,781; Wireline  Telecommunications, 2,224; and TCPA, 36,024.
