The FCC announced that its Technological Advisory Council (TAC or Council) will hold a meeting on October 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room at FCC headquarters, which will be available to the public via livestream on the FCC’s website. The TAC is a federal advisory committee that provides technical and policy recommendations to the FCC on emerging communications technologies and related regulatory issues.
According to the notice, the TAC will discuss a range of forward-looking technology issues, including efforts to look beyond 5G Advanced as 6G technologies begin to develop, ways to promote continued U.S. leadership in next-generation wireless networks, and advanced spectrum-sharing techniques. The Council also plans to examine the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve spectrum utilization and management, along with other emerging technologies relevant to the communications sector.
