Protecting the Privacy of Broadband Customers and Deceptive Marketing on Tentative October FCC Open Meeting Agenda

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has released the tentative agenda for its October 27, 2016 open meeting. It contains the following items:

Protecting the Privacy of Broadband and other Telecommunications Service Customers: The Commission will consider a Report and Order that applies the privacy requirements of the Communications Act to broadband Internet access service providers and other  telecommunications service providers to help broadband customers make informed decisions about the use and sharing of their information by their broadband providers.

 Deceptive Marketing: The Commission will consider separately four FCC Memorandum Opinions and Orders that dismissed and denied Petitions for Reconsideration of four Forfeiture Orders for the deceptive marketing of prepaid calling cards.
