PSHSB Seeks Comment on Implementation of EAS Security Best Practices

In order to gain new information regarding ways to address existing and future security risks within the Emergency Alert System (EAS), the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) is seeking comment on the implementation of a set of security best practices developed by the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC) IV.  Comment is requested on eight specific questions related to the implementation status and effectiveness of the voluntary security best practice recommendations, or alternatives by EAS Participants, equipment manufacturers and other members of the EAS community.  Interested parties are invited to submit comments on or before December 30, 2014.
