The U.S. Senate has confirmed Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr to new terms as Commissioners to the FCC. Starks, who was nominated in June and is a Kansas native like FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, was most recently Assistant Chief at the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau. Previously, he served as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Justice Department. Starks was nominated by Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and fills a vacant Democratic seat. Brendan Carr currently serves as an FCC Commissioner. With the Senate confirmations of Starks and Carr now complete, the FCC now has all five Commissioner seats filled, with Chairman Pai, Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel and Commissioner Michael O’Rielly filling the other three seats.
