The FCC has released the Special Access Web Portal System Guide, providing directions for electronically submitting the information and data that must be filed pursuant to the Commission’s mandatory data reporting requirement on special access services. The web portal is available here. The Commission has also released the Protective Order that sets out the processes for designating, submitting, and accessing confidential and highly confidential information and data submitted in response to this data collection. It is anticipated that much of the data and information being submitted will be competitively sensitive and not publicly available in the ordinary course of business and would require confidential treatment. It is important that reporting parties carefully follow the FCC’s procedures for designating information and data as confidential or highly confidential. Responses to the data collection are due December 15, 2014.
