The Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (Bureau) has issued a Public Notice soliciting input for the first staff report on call blocking. This follows the Bureau’s staff Report on Robocalls, in February 2019, that examined the current state of robocalling in the US, including robocall volume, type, and trends in volume and consumer complaints. The Commission asked the Bureau to further study the information on call blocking and the impact of rule changes to allow voice service providers to block certain calls.
