The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau has issued a Public Notice announcing that BAR Connects LLC has defaulted on its Rural Digital Opportunity Fund auction supported areas and Connect America Fund Phase II auction supported areas in Virginia. North Alabama Electric Cooperative has also defaulted on its RDOF supported areas in Alabama. The entities have not withdrawn from the programs and remain subject to their rules, but the entities’ future monthly support payments will be reduced based on the locations they have defaulted on. The FCC noted that these previously supported areas are now eligible for funding from other federal and state funding programs subject to the rules of those programs.
