Comcast to Lead FCC’s CSRIC

The FCC has announced that Comcast has been named the Chair of the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC).  Comcast Executive Vice President and Chief Network Officer, John Schanz, will represent Comcast as Chair of CSRIC.  Comcast takes over the CSRIC Chair position from tw telecom, which was recently acquired by Level 3 Communications.  CSRIC is a Federal Advisory Committee consisting of over fifty individuals from the communications and Public Safety industry that provides recommendations to the FCC to ensure optimal security and reliability of communications systems, including telecommunications, media, and public safety.  The next meeting of CSRIC will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at FCC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
