The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) has announced that it has delayed implementation of the FCC’s new interpretation of “former reservations in Oklahoma” for 120 days, making its effective date June 8, 2016. The new interpretation of former reservations in Oklahoma is based on the geographic boundaries found in the Historical Map of Oklahoma 1870-1890, and was adopted by the FCC in a June 2015 Lifeline Second Report and Order. The Bureau will release a digital shapefile showing the new boundaries of former reservations in Oklahoma, which will be available for download here.
