The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has filled a vacancy on the Federal-State Joint Conference on Advanced Telecommunications Services (Joint Conference) by appointing Paul Kjellander. Mr. Kjellander is the President of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, and will fill the Joint Conference position vacated by former Indiana Utility Regulatory Commissioner Larry Landis. The Joint Conference was convened in 1999 as part of the FCC’s ongoing efforts to ensure that advanced services are deployed as rapidly as possible to all Americans, and it serves as a forum for an ongoing dialogue among the FCC, state regulators, and local and regional entities regarding the deployment of advanced telecommunications capabilities. The Joint Conference comprises representatives from state public utility commissions and the FCC.
