The deadline for responding to the mandatory data collection in the special access proceeding has been extended. The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) has determined that the database container, which carriers will use to upload data to the FCC, needs additional improvements and further testing before being released to the public. Recognizing responding companies will need time to become familiar with the database container, the WCB extended the reporting deadline. Specifically, large businesses with more than 1,500 employees that are required to provide data in response to the collection must respond by January 29, 2015. Small businesses with 1,500 or fewer employees that are required to provide data must do so by February 27, 2015. Entities that are only required to certify that they are not required to provide data and information because they are not a covered Provider, Purchaser, or entity providing Best Efforts Business Broadband Internet Access Services must file the required certification by December 15, 2014.
