The FCC has adopted a Report and Order to open up 10 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz band (896–901 and 935–940 MHz) to provide more capacity for utilities, critical infrastructure, and enterprise businesses to deploy private broadband networks. The new rules will enable more efficient use of the band, creating three new configuration possibilities that will help facilitate the development of private and secure wireless broadband networks to foster network enhancements across important business sectors.
