The FCC has entered into consent decrees with two companies, resolving investigations into whether they violated FCC rules by failing to make accurate and truthful statements in their final Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program certifications. According to the consent decrees, both Reimbursement Program participants lost and never recovered certain covered equipment and thus could not confirm disposal. Despite this, the entities filed final certifications, certifying compliance with the removal, replacement, and disposal requirements. The FCC learned of the lost equipment and requested further information from the entities. Both entities admitted that they could not confirm that the lost equipment was destroyed and agreed to resolve the investigations, each making a voluntary contribution of $10,000.
