The National Telecommunications Information Administration joined more than 20 partner governments in a “Call to Action for 6G Leadership and Security” initiative, geared towards strengthening 6G supply chains and accelerating innovation. Through the initiative, participating governments pledged to strengthen cooperation on 6G in support of security, interoperability, and resilience. The initiative also recognizes the role artificial intelligence (AI) will plan in the development and operation of 6G networks.
The Unites States committed to a timeline of steps to consider and implement 6G advancements including designating a 6G point of a contact, meeting with telecom stakeholders within the US, and convening with representatives from other countries to develop best practices on advancing 6G leadership and security.
