Final FCC Meeting of 2014 Contains Three Major Items

The Federal Communications Commission has released the final agenda for its final open meeting of 2014. It includes the following three important items:

E-Rate Modernization: The FCC will consider a Second Report and Order and Order on Reconsideration and an additional Report and Order that, among other things, will permanently increase the E-Rate program’s annual funding cap by $1.5 billion.

Connect America Fund Phase II: The FCC will consider a Report and Order finalizing decisions necessary to proceed to Phase II of the Connect America Fund.

Incentive Auction: The FCC will consider a Public Notice that seeks comment on procedures necessary to carry out the Broadcast Incentive Auction, including specific proposals on auction design issues such as determination of the initial clearing target, opening bid prices, and the final television channel assignment process.
