The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) announced that, effective November 2, 2018, the National Lifeline Eligibility Verifier (National Verifier) will undergo a hard launch in the six initial participating states—Colorado, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.  At that time, service providers in those states must check all Lifeline applicants’ eligibility through the National Verifier.  Consumers who wish to apply for Lifeline directly through the National Verifier can use the consumer portal at www.CheckLifeline.org.  The National Verifier was established by the FCC’s 2016 Lifeline Order and is managed by USAC to uniformly perform various necessary Lifeline functions such as making eligibility determinations and enrolling subscribers.
