Frontier Communications Corp. (Frontier) has informed the FCC that it intends to modify its Connect America Fund (CAF) Phase I Round 2 incremental broadband deployment plans. Frontier also provided a new list of 3,146 census blocks that it intends to serve using CAF Phase I support, which is available at https://transition.fcc.gov/wcb/Frontier Census Blocks 08.26.16.xlsx. Before Frontier may commence construction, it must certify to the FCC that to the best of its knowledge the locations it plans to serve are in fact unserved. Other providers will have until October 24, 2016 to notify Frontier that they already serve any of the identified blocks with broadband speeds of at least 3 Mbps downstream and 768 kbps upstream. Though the FCC encourages existing providers to notify Frontier directly, Frontier also will be deemed to have received a notification that is filed electronically with the FCC in WC Docket No. 10-90.
