The FCC adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to prohibit the testing of electronic devices in labs in countries without reciprocal agreements that recognize American test labs and certification bodies. Additionally, the FCC adopted new rules to streamline the approval process for devices that are tested in U.S. labs or in reciprocal countries and refined the FCC’s equipment authorization program. Comments and reply comments are are due 30 days and 60 days, respectively, after Federal Register publication.
